Feature Friday: Bellissimo and Bella

Today I am featuring the home tour of Maggie from the blog Bellissimo and Bella! Here is what she says she loves most about her home:

"When my husband and I first looked at this house, I was sold immediately. I could see past the dated interiors and weird half-walls, and zeroed in on the open floor plan, high ceilings, and incredible natural light coming through the windows. We did a few renovations in the beginning, but our major changes involved refinishing the hardwood floors and a thorough paint job.  While making it a home, I’ve had a ball collecting pieces over the years, rummaging through grandma's attic, scouring antique stores, and incorporating my obsession with textiles, linens, and fabrics. It's no secret, I'm a pillow junkie! And I love taking family cast-offs and bringing them back to life. Luckily, no one has really fought me over anything. Yet! Our home is a combination of things that makes it "ours". I enjoy adding things here and there....a quirky objet de art, a funny plant, or a different lamp. Like my taste, my home is constantly evolving. Hope you enjoy our home tour! And thank you Kirsten for letting me be a part of your Feature Friday series! I am honored!”

Enjoy!

White Cabinets!

When we bought our townhouse 5 years ago I really wanted white cabinets.  The upgrade was $3,000 so we had to rule it out. Honestly I wasn't too heartbroken. I liked our brown cabinets and I've tried my best to keep our kitchen light and bright regardless.

But in the back of my head I always knew I wanted to paint them eventually. To get your cabinets done right is not cheap though. I had some pretty high quotes! I finally decided to go with RJ Custom Painting (801-381-2057) He was really reasonable priced and totally knew what he was doing. He was also really easy to work with. We went with Decorator's White by Benjamin Moore.

It makes such a difference! I have all the hardware picked out and it's on it's way in the mail!

I decided to go with modern bin pulls for the drawers.

and these classic cabinet knobs for the doors...

I've actually been working on lots of projects in my house and hopefully getting everything photographed in the Fall so I can't wait to share the new house tour with you!
